Report Filed: A report was filed today as follows:
H.R. 2534, to amend the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to prohibit certain securities trading and related communications by those who possess material, nonpublic information, with an amendment (H. Rept. 116–219).
Relating to a national emergency declared by the President on February 15, 2019: The House passed S.J. Res. 54, relating to a national emergency declared by the President on February 15, 2019, by a yea-and-nay vote of 236 yeas to 174 nays, Roll No. 553.
Suspension--Proceedings Resumed: The House agreed to suspend the rules and pass the following measure. Consideration began Thursday, September 26th.
Joint Task Force to Combat Opioid Trafficking Act of 2019: H.R. 3722, to amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to authorize a Joint Task Force to enhance integration of the Department of Homeland Security's border security operations to detect, interdict, disrupt, and prevent narcotics, such as fentanyl and other synthetic opioids, from entering the United States, by a 2/3 yea-and-nay vote of 403 yeas to 1 nay, Roll No. 554.
Question of Privilege: Representative McCarthy rose to a question of the privileges of the House and submitted a resolution. Upon examination of the resolution, the Chair determined that the resolution qualified. Subsequently, the House agreed to the Hoyer motion to table H. Res. 603, raising a question of the privileges of the House, by a recorded vote of 222 ayes to 184 noes, Roll No. 555.
Meeting Hour: Agreed by unanimous consent that when the House adjourns today, it adjourn to meet at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1st.
