                        MESSAGES FROM THE HOUSE

  At 10:10 a.m., a message from the House of Representatives, delivered 
by Mrs. Cole, one of its reading clerks, announced that the House has 
agreed to the following concurrent resolutions, in which it requests 
the concurrence of the Senate:

       H. Con. Res. 87. Concurrent resolution authorizing the use 
     of Emancipation Hall for a ceremony as part of the 
     commemoration of the days of remembrance of victims of the 
     Holocaust.
       H. Con. Res. 91. Concurrent resolution authorizing the use 
     of Emancipation Hall in the Capitol Visitor Center for a 
     ceremony to present the Congressional Gold Medal collectively 
     to the Chinese-American veterans of World War II.

  The message also announced that the House has passed the following 
bill, with an amendment, in which it requests the concurrence of the 
Senate:

       S. 1678. An act to express United States support for 
     Taiwan's diplomatic alliances around the world.

  The message further announced that pursuant to the National 
Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 
955(b)), and the order of the House of January 3, 2019, the Speaker 
appoints the following Member on the part of the House of 
Representatives to the National Council on the Arts: Ms. Adams of North 
Carolina.
  The message also announced that pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 9455(a), and 
the order of the House of January 3, 2019, the Speaker appoints the 
following Member on the part of the House of Representatives to the 
Board of Visitors to the United States Air Force Academy: Mr. Lieu of 
California.

  At 1:29 p.m., a message from the House of Representatives, delivered 
by Mrs. Cole, one of its reading clerks, announced that the House has 
passed the following bills, in which it requests the concurrence of the 
Senate:

       H.R. 1140. An act to enhance the security operations of the 
     Transportation Security Administration and stability of the 
     transportation security workforce by applying the personnel 
     system under title 5, United States Code, to employees of the 
     Transportation Security Administration who provide screening 
     of all passengers and property, and for other purposes.


                          Enrolled Bill Signed

  At 3:45 p.m., a message from the House of Representatives, delivered 
by Mrs. Cole, one of its reading clerks, announced that the Speaker has 
signed the following enrolled bill:

       H.R. 6074. An act making emergency supplemental 
     appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2020, 
     and for other purposes.

  The enrolled bill was subsequently signed by the President pro 
tempore (Mr. Grassley).
