                      IN MEMORY OF AMIL PADEZANIN

                                 ______

                            HON. CONOR LAMB

                            of pennsylvania

                    in the house of representatives

                        Tuesday, April 21, 2020

Mr. LAMB. Madam Speaker, I rise today to remember and honor the life
of Amil Padezanin, a fellow Marine and a pillar in the community in
Beaver County.
Mr. Padezanin served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He was a retired brakeman and conductor working for 42 years out of the
Conway Yards for Conrail, formerly known as Penn Central and the
Pennsylvania Railroad.
During his 85 years in Freedom, PA, Mr. Padezanin played varsity
football at Freedom High School, served on the town council, led the
town's holiday festivities, was a member of the Freedom Serbian Club,
and was an avid Freedom Bulldogs sports fan. He was also a member of
the St. Elijah Serbian 0rthodox Church in Aliquippa, and a member of
the Serb National Federation, the oldest and largest Serbian fraternal
organization in the country.
I want to express my deepest condolences to Mr. Padezanin's wife
Martha and the entire Padezanin family.
We will all miss Amil, but it may help to remember that there is no
such thing as a former Marine, and that his duties are much needed in
the next world. As it says in our hymn, ``if the Army and the Navy ever
look on heaven's scenes, they will find the streets are guarded by
United States Marines.''
