Ms. FRANKEL. Madam Speaker, I rise today to recognize Melissa
Davison, a local hero from Florida's 21st Congressional District who
has gone above and beyond as a healthcare worker both before and during
the COVID-19 pandemic.
Melissa began her nursing career nearly 35 years ago at Humana
Hospital, which would later become JFK Medical Center. After
temporarily leaving to get her master's degree, Melissa came back to
JFK in 2006 as their Infection Prevention Coordinator. Since being in
this role, Melissa has overseen JFK's entire infection control
programming through H1N1, Ebola, and now COVID-19. From March through
May, Melissa worked for two months straight, including nights and
weekends, making sure hospital policies and procedures followed the
most up-to-date regulations per

evolving CDC guidelines and supporting nurses, doctors, and staff on
the front lines.
Melissa's selflessness and compassion during this difficult time is
truly humbling. Her outstanding work has touched countless lives, and I
am so thankful for her dedication to our community. I am proud to honor
her today.
