                    in the house of representatives

                        Friday, January 3, 2020

Mr. COOK. Madam Speaker, I rise today to recognize the outstanding
law enforcement career of California Highway Patrol Sergeant Todd
Weichers, who retired on December 27, 2019 after 31 years of service.
After completing CHP Academy in 1989, Sergeant Weichers was assigned
as a traffic officer to the Westminster Area. He spent five years at
this first assignment area before being transferred to the Barstow
Area. In 2008, Officer Weichers was promoted to Sergeant Weichers, and
shortly thereafter was transferred to the Mariposa Area. After a brief
stint back in the Barstow Area, he was transferred to the Victorville
Area in 2011 where he has spent the remainder of his career.
On behalf of the U.S. House of Representatives, I offer my
compliments to Sergeant Weichers for his leadership, hard work, and
dedication to keeping our roads safe. While retiring from a career is
never easy, I wish him and his family a relaxing and fulfilling
retirement.
