  Mr. JOYCE of Pennsylvania. Madam Speaker, I rise to congratulate Evan 
Renninger for receiving Encompass Health Rehab's Advocacy Award.
  Like many Americans, Evan faced unprecedented challenges during the 
coronavirus crisis and courageously overcame these obstacles.
  At the onset of the pandemic, Evan's wife was admitted to Encompass 
Health Rehab due to a cerebrovascular accident following childbirth. To 
protect patients, Encompass had eliminated visitation. Knowing that the 
alternative would leave his wife vulnerable to loneliness and other 
mental health challenges shortly after the birth of their child, Evan 
decided to move into the hospital so that he could support her each day 
in her recovery. In doing so, he demonstrated many of the 
characteristics of the American spirit: selflessness, devotion to 
family, and support for each other in the midst of adversity.
  Madam Speaker, the virtues demonstrated by Evan during this 
challenging season demonstrate the best of America. It is my honor to 
recognize Evan Renninger for his advocacy and dedication. On behalf of 
the 13th District of Pennsylvania, I wish Evan and his family continued 
health and happiness in the chapters to come.
