          RECOGNIZING HARDWORKING AMERICANS DURING CORONAVIRUS

                                 ______

                           HON. PAUL A. GOSAR

                               of arizona

                    in the house of representatives

                          Monday, June 8, 2020

Mr. GOSAR. Madam Speaker, I am here today to point out how some
people rise to the occasion during times of crisis, and by simply doing
their jobs, they rise above the confusion and exceed the performance
and expectations of those around them. Specifically, I am talking about
the coronavirus pandemic, and not just its national impact, but its
impact in our capital of Washington, D.C. The capital became a ghost
town in March and April, and even in May, as restaurants everywhere
were closed and everyone sheltered in place. There were very few
options and very few restaurants that had the team spirit and
determination to stay open.
But there was one restaurant, a McDonald's in Southwest, D.C., at 400
C St. S.W., that

persevered. They rallied and stayed open the entire pandemic with a
crew of dedicated staff that wore protective equipment, rearranged the
restaurant for takeout only, and otherwise got to work. One manager
named Aaron, worked long shifts with a great attitude.
This store's dedication provided some of the only food available in
the area, including to members of Congress like me. I very much
appreciated their work, their commitment and their resolve.
Congratulations to the team there, the management and to the entire
crew who really proved how tough they were.
